Miguel Angel Guerra
Born in Tunja, Colombia
Art has been in my veins since birth, a gift I inherited from my father. Although my artistic training throughout my childhood was always music, I always felt a strong inclination towards visual arts. I was particularly fascinated in painting and sculptures. I have learned the art of restoration and applied that knowledge towards my workshops. My father has been my greatest advisor and inspiration, I began working with him at the age of 14 and the experience has enabled me to express all I have learned towards my art. In finding my own pictorial expression as I sat alone in my studio studying the canvas, I let go of my inner feelings and that allowed me to translate colors, and concepts without any prior ideas. My spirit within me spoke through my art and what emerged was a new world for me. This allowed my art to transpire, sometimes in abstract, figurative and others forms of art.
My art is a reflection of my culture, what one is and what I wish to share…….MAG
